Earlier today, Grinding Gear Games has announced the development plan for 2019 of its prestigious title: Path of Exile. As the unprecedented success that the game has pulled off since the release of new Betrayal Expansion, Grinding Gear Games and the game devs team have the prevailing view of a brighter prospect of the game shortly.
The Path of Exile devs team previously took a couple of weeks off from its work by convention. Recently the crew was back to work from the holiday in droves. The development plan is not only the declaration of this year's blueprint but also a wake-up call to their staff it's time to be back on track and throw themselves into another grand journey.
Based on the information the plan from Path of Exile devs just revealed, the game planned to roll out four major updates from Patch 3.6.0 to Patch 3.9.0 in this year. All four updates will share the same formula as the previous ones did: Introducing a challenge league, various expansion features, new character skills/archetypes to play and masses of other fixes and quality of life improvements.
The most anticipated content for any Path of Exile fans is nothing but Mega-expansion 4.0.0. According to the official statement, the 4.0.0 update will be a ground-breaking project, where massive contents and novelty genes are going to be packed into, as well as some major improvements on graphics, gameplay, etc. The Mega-expansion will be so colossal that the devs team already determined to take some more time working on till it's officially alive without interfering with the release of other smaller-scale updates. The 4.0.0 update was estimated to be released a few months later after the 3.9.0 update going live, which would be the summer of 2020, at the soonest.
Another eye-catching scheme is the ExileCon in November 2019. The ExileCon is a fan-base convention that Grinding Gear Games will host in Auckland. This convention for the company is supposed to meet with their Path of Exile community members and make a few announcements regarding upcoming 3.9.0 update and big-scale 4.0.0 mega-expansion, as well as winning more fandoms' approval through a series of tournaments, sessions, parties, and tours.
At the very end of this announcement, Grinding Gear Games revealed the Path of Exile PlayStation 4 version creation had been in the finishing-touches phrase recently. And the release date of this version will come out "in the near future."
Although it's rather excruciating and restless for the PS4 users during the process since the company has initially announced the PS4 version launch agenda in November of last year, as there hasn't been an actual date or specific period for the launch of this version all the time. Today's announcement is obviously not providing such a big relief as the PS4 owners expected, however, it's all the better than nothing.
