Old School Runescape Mobile Reviews From A Returning Player: Nostalgia Factor Is More Successful Than This Game Itself

This week is going to be a little different than usual. Instead, of searching and focusing on a new game, I spent my time with an old friend of mine. The friend is Old School Runescape.

Old School Runescape is the same version of Runescape that was first released in 2007. But unlike many of you expected, it's not exactly the years I could roll back regarding my time playing Runescape as a teenager. The fact is most of the time I spent in Runescape is the early 2000s. At that time, playing a game with friends straight from PC's internet browser is pretty amazing for all of us. That is a bit more well-worn and old-fashioned now, but I digress.

The first thing that came to my mind before dipping myself into the Old School Runescape Mobile port was if I log back into my old Runescape account from back then. Honestly, I am not quite sure about that. But I did manage to get into an account with my name and password - what are the odds of successful access to its mobile port with an old PC game account you have left behind over ten years?  Unfortunately, it did make me create a character from scratch - so I am guessing there are still some differences between PC version and mobile port.  It became more quirky when I got a different character name instead of the one I had chosen previously, and a pile of friends on the list that I didn't know any of them. The reasonable assumption of this particular circumstance is my old account was taken over by hackers or was it?

Tracing back to it more, I played Runescape while my backwater town just heard about the dial-up. And my family had Walmart internet at the time. The fun fact is the internet back then came with its account and email address. I am 99% positive that my original Runescape account connects to that email address. If that's true, the account may still be around, but there is no way I can still gain access to it again.

Truth be told, even if I could have accessed OSRS mobile with my original account, I certainly wouldn't care more or less the difference that made. A couple of hours I spent with this game on mobile and my interest was wearing out gradually. The overall gameplay of this mobile port is much slower than I remember, which turned out to be a slip of memory, was the main turn-off for me. It's such a frustration to see that lots of options and choices that I was forced to make to start at the very beginning more than what I need on the PC version. And an absence of player input to assist me on that just made things worse. The game is still inferior and laggy as the same one I played on my computer in the old times while so many other games already evolved into a greater shape with high-quality graphics and gameplay. That's a little bit disappointing since I always thought it was just my poor internet connection, which turns out to be fine in the first place and has nothing to do with the game's performance.

What I'm comprehending here is that Old School Runescape and its mobile port just doesn't suit for me anymore. I have so many exhilarating memories with friends I made throughout this game back in the old times. But by the end of the day, those memories from me are better than trying to play the game.

There is something I want to be very clear about here: I am not tearing down Old School Runescape mobile just because it's old. The fact is it works well as a mobile version of the game. Even if I'm almost sure it's just a link to a custom mobile web browser version. The game doesn't get any worse than the one I remember and played before. Furthermore, It appears to be a truly authentic reproduction of the old Runescape. I am just saying that it's not something I still enjoy.

If you were really into RuneScape back in the 2000s, then Old School RuneScape may be a wonderful trip down memory lane for you. It really is just like you remember, which includes all the pros and cons. However, make sure those rose-tinted glasses don’t fall off, or you might lose some appreciation for the game when playing it again.

Honestly, I don't really feel like giving Old School RuneScape and its mobile port a score. I strive to be fair in my reviews, and I’m incredibly torn on this game. There’s part of me that loves what it is, but there’s another part that can’t get over the disappointing feeling I have from playing it again. So for the sake of my memories with the game, there is no final score here.

MapleStory 2 Enchant Changes And 64-Bit Client: The Misgivings About Fixing The In-game Progression Issues Still Exist

MapleStory 2 Project New Leaf got its latest sequel published. This one is about Enchantment changes and 64-bit client. As the third unveiled portion of the reputed "Progression Improvement Update" which tentatively would be launched on the 25th of this month, this major improvement will allegedly save much more cost of enchanting than any updates did before and thusly ease player's progression path.  Progression Improvement Update is considered as the second major update that the developers plan on bringing up into MapleStory 2, right behind the Economy Improvement Update which mostly features resolving MapleStory 2 Mesos ' issues. Enchantment Changes are reportedly concerned with two NPCs who help players enchant their equipment in the game, mostly. Those two NPCs are known as Ophelia and Peachy. In most cases, the post written about Enchant Changes was talking about how to make a difference to the current Peachy's enchants, due to its being priced out of th

The Elder Scrolls: Blades Tops The App Store In Its First Week On iOS

Bethesda’s mobile action-RPG tops the App store with one million downloads following its early access launch. Announced at E3 2018, The Elder Scrolls: Blades went live on iOS and Android last week for players who had signed up for early access, and has already been downloaded by more than one million users in its first seven days, and has already made almost $500,000 in revenue. Sensor Tower reports that the game is at No.1 in the download charts, with 42% (420,000) of downloads coming from the US. US players also accounted for 76% of spending, totalling around $380,000. This data is only for iOS, so total downloads are likely to be a fair bit higher. The game is free-to-play, but contains in-app purchases to hasten player progress, including Silver Chests that hold gold and items, like equipment, supplies, and materials. The Elder Scrolls: Blades received an update this week to iron out a few kinks, with Bethesda promising further balance tweaks, specifically for the Silver Chest.
