The discussion of new potential console ports for Final Fantasy XIV is brought up in the latest talk with the game director Naoki Yoshida. Nintendo and Xbox may be the next havens for Final Fantasy XIV Online . Discussions are still in the works even though hinted. There is a possibility that Final Fantasy XIV Online may extend its compatible platform into Nintendo and Xbox someday in the near feature. In an interview with FFXIV game director Naoki Yoshida by Gamespot, it was made clear that discussion with Microsoft, Nintendo, and Google are currently in progress.  In a previous interview, the game director also stressed that cross-platform play is needed for the unity of Final Fantasy player bases and the offer of the best experience. For months, Sony had been the lone holdout when it came to allowing cross-play in Fortnite, but the company finally relented earlier this week and kicked off an "extended cross-play beta" for the hit battle royale game. Sony has announced that cross-play between PlayStation 4 and other platforms is coming to Fortnite. In a statement posted on the  PlayStation Blog , Sony Interactive Entertainment said it has "identified a path towards supporting cross-platform features for select third-party content." The first of these third-party titles is  Fortnite  and, starting today, an  open beta  for Fortnite will allow for "gameplay, progression, and commerce" across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Mac, Android, iOS.
