MapleStory 2: What Nexon Will Do To The Exploit Abusers And Subdue The Anger From Its Player Base

With more and more participants making in the rant line, the aftershock of the exposure of a severe exploit's abuse in MapleStory 2 still has no sign of quieting down in a short time. Would this unexpected emergency be the final nail in the coffin of MapleStory 2, after the game has experienced consistent loss of player base and its irreparable framework failures? And how do the game publisher Nexon and its devs manage to get through the crisis? Besides an exploit that has been neglected by the Devs and abused by cheaters for months, what's the general reaction and suggestions from ordinary players in the game? We're here to get the bottom of these questions and explore more about that.

There are something interest going on in the MapleStory 2 official forum. shortly after the disclosure of this catastrophic incident in Reddit, some players were starting a few threads on the forum to make a rant, complaint, or manifesto over the company's attitude towards this incident. One peculiar thread, written by BaronLövat, responding to the Mannequin Exploit with a steady resolution to abusers' punishment and reasoned insight into the abuse's hazard, impressed me deeply. He claimed that if Nexon wouldn't take drastic measures, like permanent suspension at least,  against these cheaters who had been abusing the exploit for so long, he then definitely make up his mind to quit the game for good. Then he held up several hazards and damages the abusers had caused that is dreadful enough to make everyone say no to lay upon lenity policy to them. Below is a short list of the abuse's marks and its harm from the writer's perspective:

  • These cheaters have gained a massive advantage in progressing their mains;
  • The top 5% of players, which is what these exploiters have abused their way into the ranks of, are the very same ones who have the capability to sell run carries;
  • These cheaters have not only manipulated the game, and Nexon, but they've manipulated everyone. They've effectively taken our hard earned Meso without earning the ability to do it
Whereas the statement was evidently ruthless to the players taking advantage of an exploit in the game once a while, as well as Nexon which would possibly choose the wrong path, there is a pile of subsequent posts seconding the motion that the original thread proposed. That leaves us the final question: Will Nexon disobey/defer to the public opinion over this exploit issue in this time? What is the best policy to cope with the crisis?

In my opinion,  Nexon probably won't back down from the request made by MapleStory 2 players. It's much easier to understand the circumstance that just let me illustrate a few similar ones that Nexon has been dealt with before: The Mesos Sellers befell and has been rooted in the game since the first day of release, after months-long condemnation they still piled on and run on their devious business; The absurd setting of RNG has been accused by players for very long time too, but what now? The still overruled players' progression urges over and over again. So there is no way to tell Nexon finally listen carefully and approve the sentiments from the player base. But there are still some exceptional measures to choose from that can make the game survive from this calamity.

Thinking out of the box, the exploit was abused by the top 5% of players with envious gears equipped. Basically, it allows any items traveling through each character these players have and sharing with multiple characters at the same time. If Nexon has the guts to take the opposite approach and turn this "exploit" into a "feature", meaning the 5% abuse completely transfer into 100% clearance to all players. It definitely kills all the whining and rants in a second and may soothe the quitting phenomenon in no time.

MapleStory 2 Enchant Changes And 64-Bit Client: The Misgivings About Fixing The In-game Progression Issues Still Exist

MapleStory 2 Project New Leaf got its latest sequel published. This one is about Enchantment changes and 64-bit client. As the third unveiled portion of the reputed "Progression Improvement Update" which tentatively would be launched on the 25th of this month, this major improvement will allegedly save much more cost of enchanting than any updates did before and thusly ease player's progression path.  Progression Improvement Update is considered as the second major update that the developers plan on bringing up into MapleStory 2, right behind the Economy Improvement Update which mostly features resolving MapleStory 2 Mesos ' issues. Enchantment Changes are reportedly concerned with two NPCs who help players enchant their equipment in the game, mostly. Those two NPCs are known as Ophelia and Peachy. In most cases, the post written about Enchant Changes was talking about how to make a difference to the current Peachy's enchants, due to its being priced out of th

The Elder Scrolls: Blades Tops The App Store In Its First Week On iOS

Bethesda’s mobile action-RPG tops the App store with one million downloads following its early access launch. Announced at E3 2018, The Elder Scrolls: Blades went live on iOS and Android last week for players who had signed up for early access, and has already been downloaded by more than one million users in its first seven days, and has already made almost $500,000 in revenue. Sensor Tower reports that the game is at No.1 in the download charts, with 42% (420,000) of downloads coming from the US. US players also accounted for 76% of spending, totalling around $380,000. This data is only for iOS, so total downloads are likely to be a fair bit higher. The game is free-to-play, but contains in-app purchases to hasten player progress, including Silver Chests that hold gold and items, like equipment, supplies, and materials. The Elder Scrolls: Blades received an update this week to iron out a few kinks, with Bethesda promising further balance tweaks, specifically for the Silver Chest.
