Server Transfer In MapleStory 2: Is It A Little Bit Too Early To Implement or A Desperate Call-To-Action Right Now?

Unlike any other games in the world, MapleStory 2 is rolling through the path that will have no intention of helping players socialize and bond with each other when facing to the reality that the world is getting smaller under advanced means of communication, even in the game.

There is no doubt that MapleStory 2 has done much better than MapleStory in so many ways, including customization contests, 3D graphics, exquisite anime style and so on. But an inconvenient truth is both the predecessor and the sequel is running under the same archaic server system which would never allow the tweaks like transferring players' character from the current server to another one come true. The recent clues to reveal this rigescent system is Nexon's attempts to deploy account-binding regulations for owners of Crystal Fragments, Chaos Onyx Crystals or Onyx Crystals. No one knows if there are more possessions or rewards in the future will be incorporated into those regulations. But one thing is for sure - Once those items bind with your personal account, anything happens to your account will affect or even terminate your possession status. And it gets worse when implanting a Server Transfer functionality in the game - Account-binding is the No. 1 obstacle on the way to tackle the core technical difficulties for transferring one account from one server to another with none of your possessions disappeared in the middle.

Although it's really a commonplace in most RPGs for gamers creating multiple alts in different servers in order to complete different goals and play with different groups of teammates, it doesn't mean that a Character Server Transfer system will be far less required for most of the players than the Alts-building endeavor, which dozens of days and hours are wasted in the weary cutscenes, episodes, and same old quests. However, on the premise of the foreseeable indecision about creating a Server Transfer system, Nexon already makes the Alt-building harder than ever - players sacrifice more time and energy in despair to build an alt due to the collateral damage from the latest crackdown upon Meso Sellers.

It's not surprised at all that someone finally put forward the proposal of Character Server Transfer plan in MapleStory 2 official forum and most of topic participants, even including a forum moderator, voted for it. The thread starter, nickname"Aruraune", began with his/her blueprint of Server Transfer as below described:
Some players have doubts on where should we play. Some of us prefer NA servers because the communities we're already in but have better ping on either EU or SA. It's hard to make this choice in a future-proof way and changing our mind means losing progress.
It could be interesting to add a server transfer feature through cash shop/merets for specific characters.
"But why am I suggesting this so early?"
Server transfers always implies some technical problems such as duplicated nicknames, database references and other type of issues. If these things are handled earlier they're sure to result in less work for the devs. There's also some account-bound data that might be problematic such as account trophies/achievements.
It's a reality that some people will want to transfer their character later on when the playerbase changes or when future content gets added. This also might happen even for unrelated decisions such as finding new groups or if something like per-region pricing is added.
So, could be a nice thing to work on allowing characters to be transferred to other servers during the early tests. If there's a next CBT and we get this feature we could even help testing!
By now, the thread had more than 2,000 viewers and most comments advocated for the proposal.
Some gamers indicated that other games like Blade & Soul, which had refused to add the feature like this, ended up reaching a compromise and building the Server Transfer functionality anyway. They added that A Character Server Transfer system will be not only a feature of convenience and exotica but also a big advance on socializing and barrier-free communication.

MapleStory 2 Enchant Changes And 64-Bit Client: The Misgivings About Fixing The In-game Progression Issues Still Exist

MapleStory 2 Project New Leaf got its latest sequel published. This one is about Enchantment changes and 64-bit client. As the third unveiled portion of the reputed "Progression Improvement Update" which tentatively would be launched on the 25th of this month, this major improvement will allegedly save much more cost of enchanting than any updates did before and thusly ease player's progression path.  Progression Improvement Update is considered as the second major update that the developers plan on bringing up into MapleStory 2, right behind the Economy Improvement Update which mostly features resolving MapleStory 2 Mesos ' issues. Enchantment Changes are reportedly concerned with two NPCs who help players enchant their equipment in the game, mostly. Those two NPCs are known as Ophelia and Peachy. In most cases, the post written about Enchant Changes was talking about how to make a difference to the current Peachy's enchants, due to its being priced out of th

The Elder Scrolls: Blades Tops The App Store In Its First Week On iOS

Bethesda’s mobile action-RPG tops the App store with one million downloads following its early access launch. Announced at E3 2018, The Elder Scrolls: Blades went live on iOS and Android last week for players who had signed up for early access, and has already been downloaded by more than one million users in its first seven days, and has already made almost $500,000 in revenue. Sensor Tower reports that the game is at No.1 in the download charts, with 42% (420,000) of downloads coming from the US. US players also accounted for 76% of spending, totalling around $380,000. This data is only for iOS, so total downloads are likely to be a fair bit higher. The game is free-to-play, but contains in-app purchases to hasten player progress, including Silver Chests that hold gold and items, like equipment, supplies, and materials. The Elder Scrolls: Blades received an update this week to iron out a few kinks, with Bethesda promising further balance tweaks, specifically for the Silver Chest.
